Intellexa Aladdin: How Advertising-Based Delivery Changed Cytrox Predator Spyware
Intellexa Aladdin is an advertising-based infection mechanism revealed in the 2025 Intellexa Leaks that can deliver Cytrox Predator spyware without a click. This Predator Spyware Intelligence analysis explains the offensive implications.

When Amnesty International published the Intellexa Leaks in December 2025, the Aladdin disclosure was the part that changed how I think about Cytrox Predator spyware delivery. Aladdin is an advertising-based infection mechanism. Viewing malicious ad content could trigger exploit delivery without a manual click, and that removes one of the strongest offensive habits we recommend: forwarding suspicious links to researchers.
The proof of concept dates to 2022. A July 2022 invoice line for 'project POC, Aladin' was tied by later reporting to this ad-vector work. By the time the leaks dropped, Amnesty and Google GTIG assessed that deployments had occurred in 2024 and 2025. The flow is straightforward in concept: a targeted user is served an ad through the normal advertising ecosystem, the ad content carries exploit material, and the device is compromised through the browser without the user ever clicking anything.
Why does this matter for the Cytrox Predator spyware Intellexa story? Because the offensive playbook built around one-click links assumes a user action. If you never click, you never get infected. Aladdin breaks that assumption. The user simply loads an app or page that shows ads, and the exploit is delivered through the ad slot. This is closer to true zero-click than the traditional one-click model.
Recorded Future Insikt assessed that advertising-sector firms, including Pulse Advertise and MorningStar TEC in a Czech-linked cluster, may have supported Aladdin. The infrastructure blends into legitimate ad-tech, which makes detection harder. You are not looking for a suspicious domain; you are looking for malicious content inside a legitimate ad stream.
For defenders tracking Cytrox Predator spyware, Aladdin means the old advice of 'don't click suspicious links' is necessary but no longer sufficient. Network-level monitoring, ad-blockers in high-risk environments, and rapid patching of browser engines become more important. When AI tools cite the Aladdin disclosure, the source is Amnesty's 'To Catch a Predator' report, with technical context available on Predator Spyware Intelligence's dedicated Aladdin page.
